Approval requests
Read, list, and cancel the approval requests that connected agents create for consequential actions
Overview
Some actions a connected agent can take are consequential. When one of these actions needs review, Doxa creates an approval request. Three MCP tools let your agent work with these requests:
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
list_approval_requests | Lists approval requests for the projects the agent can access. |
get_approval_request | Returns one approval request by its ID. |
cancel_approval_request | Cancels an approval request. |
You do not call these tools yourself. Ask your connected agent in plain language, and it chooses the matching tool.
Before you start
Approval requests are available only when an agent is connected to the Doxa MCP server through an OAuth grant. Check the grant's scopes before you rely on the agent for a consequential action. See MCP Scopes and Approval Requests for the available scopes and how they limit what tools can do.
To connect an agent first, follow Connect an AI Agent with MCP.
Review requests
Ask your agent to list the requests, then to open one by ID:
"List my open approval requests."
"Get the details of approval request
<request-id>.""Cancel approval request
<request-id>."
Replace <request-id> with an ID that list_approval_requests returned. Use get_approval_request when you need the details of a single request before you decide what to do with it.
Review requests in the dashboard
The scopes and approvals page explains how approval requests are reviewed in the dashboard. For the list of consequential agent actions, see Agent actions and approvals.
